EWF RAM mode or RAM REG mode

My XPE is deployed on a CF Disk. In order to use EWF in the RAM mode, it was
necessary to configue the CF Disk to be a Fixed Media (so XP would format it
as NTFS partition) and leave an extra unallocated partition. This is all
done and functions correctly.

Is there any advantage to using EWF in the RAM mode?

Would it be better/simpler to change back to the RAM REG mode (EWF volume
configuration is kept in the registry)?

thanks

RAM-REG is ideal when you don't want to deal with the extra little EWF
partition that gets created in the unallocated space. For example, sometimes
the EWF partition is a problem when it comes to drive duplication software
like Ghost. Although there are switches to get around the problems.

Also, RAM-REG is very helpful if your purchase group was only able to
purchase "removable" CF cards for cost / availablity reasons.

If the EWF volume is lost, than EWF reverts to RAM REG.

Thank you Sean,

Let's assume all of the requirements for using EWF RAM mode are satisfied.
i.e. Fixed CF Disk, multiple partitions, etc.

Now, is there any compelling reason to use the RAM mode?
