EWF on CF with possibility to save a log file.

Hello,

We use CF cards with EWF RAM overlay in our product.
Now we have a customer that runs an applications that needs to saved
data to the harddrive occasionally to be sure that no data is lost on a
possible reboot/shutdown/powerfailure.

How is this possible with EWF overlay? Can I allow a certain
applications write policies or maybe I should partition my CF with a
second small partision for this feature? Will this CF run out of write
cycles if the application writes a textfile of 10k everyday? Any tips
is appreciated!

Thank you for your response.

Hi Mike,
here some settings:
EWF Settings:

Maximum Number of Protected Volumes=1
Maximum Number of Overlay Levels =1
Disk Number =0´
Partition Number = 1
Disk Type=IDE
Overlay Type =RAM

Boot.ini:
[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Embedded"
/fastdetect /noguiboot

My flash runs in IDE Master position.
Hope that helps

Jo
