CompactFlash and EWF question.

Jeff

According to MSDN:
Because the lifespan of a Compact Flash device is limited, it is
recommended that you protect the device with Enhanced Write Filter
(EWF).

Is this truly an issue?

We have successfully deployed and tested our CF device without EWF.
In our implementation, there won't be that much writing to the CF.

Today's CF cards are becoming more and more reliable. Are we at
considerable risk running without EWF?

What other problems/ issues may be hiding around the corner??
Is running XPe on CF (without EWF) in an industrial application just
begging for future trouble?

Thanks for your help.
