EWF and Server

Hi All,

I'm an XPe developer, and we've had great success delivering XPe for a
couple years now. I am working on a new product that needs to be able to
serve a share to more clients than the XP Pro license allows. I also need to
be able to mount some storage Read-Only, but not necessarily be able to boot
from a read-only partition. Does anyone know if any of the embedded or
mainstream flavors of Windows Server support EWF or EWF-like functionality?

Thanks,

David

David,

I don't know much about what's available for Embedded Server. I don't believe EWF is, though.

You may want to take a look at the distribution license of Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit for XP (it includes an a flavor
(version) of EWF).
Technically it may not be a big deal to get it working on the server platforms.

There is no support for EWF on the Windows Server products.

You might want to talk to your distributor or Microsoft technical contact to
see if EWF can be pulled over.

Thanks, Sean. I found the feature within diskpart.exe which allows volumes
to be flagged as read-only, which may be enough for my purposes.
