evil desk shell

Has anyone else tried this? I just downloaded it today because windows
uses up my minimal ram and between explorer and zonealarm my computer
keeps freezing. It's very simple, has few options but barely uses any
ram on my computer:

A replacement for the default Windows®XP graphical shell (taskbar, start
menu and "tray").

The default explorer shell uses quite a lot of run-time resources and
can be quite slow to use for "Power Users". This shell provides the
following features but uses only a fraction of the resources that
explorer.exe uses:
Quicklaunch icon bar
System Notification area (aka "Tray"), including tray bubbles
Clock
No classic taskbar, but "flashing" windows have their icons bounced to
get your attention
Light-weight icon-free start menu
Kludge-free Workspace management; use up to 4 virtual desktops (well, 32
is the technical limit, but only 4 can be accessed via the UI right now)

Application switching only by ye olde alt-tab (from Win 3.1 on)? Sorry,
I won't work with that.

A spamfighter has at least three programs open at the same time: the
mail program (for sending complaints), a SamSpade/Network Tool/Browser
for doing the Whois researches, and a Notepad (replacement) for
checking the source code of HTML mails that hide the *real* URL behind
their "clickme" links. Constantly having to alt tab between them, is a
minus.

I'm not quite sure I understand about the 3 programs. Or the alt tab
although I probably don't switch that much. All the programs that are
running in the foreground, so far, have little icons on the task bar and
I just click the icon when I want to maximize that window and work with
it. But since I don't understand about the 3 spamfighter windows I
think I'm less of a power user than you are.
I also only have 256k ram and it's nice to have things run so much more
smoothly. This is the first software that solves the problem without
adding more ram.
