Everything stuck in the Outbox

Warning, this is a REALLY weird one!

We are using Exchange 2003, with Outlook 2003 in cache mode. (using the
Exchange/MAPI connection)
One person has this problem, when he sends/replies to any email, they all
get stuck in the Outbox, and they never get delivered. So far I don't think
anyone else in our company has this problem.
If he uses OWA, then he can send an email fine. I even had him login to my
workstation, setup Outlook from scratch and he still has the same problem!

-Antivirus/Mail/Firewall filters all turned off.
-Tried various Send/Recieve, work offline modes, nothing helps...
-No attachments (since I've seen lots of people having trouble with that
before)
-Recreated the ost file, didn't fix it.
-Double checked to make sure his emails are not by default getting sent with
a scheduled delivery or something.
-He has no rules at all made, so no strange conflicts from there

Not sure it even is an Outlook problem anymore, maybe it's something on the
Exchange server side instead?

HELP, any ideas?!

TIA!

Also, I forgot to mention, there are no errors what so ever when hitting
send/receive. It completes sucessfully, and he is able to receive new
emails...

Peter,

No, don't even have ICQ. Plus this doesn't go away when going to another
workstation, that normally works fine.

Thanks for trying though.

Any other ideas??

Discoverd another "funny" thing. If I change from Cached Mode to Online
Mode, then everything works just fine... so how come something server side
would affect any workstation in Cached Mode to not let him send any
emails?!?

Any ideas on how to fix his Cached Mode problem??

TIA!!

No, sorry.

Probably best to
a. post again, or
b. delete/recreate the guy's profile, or
c. contact Microsoft support directly.

FWIW, I would say that changing betwen Cached and Online mode changes the
way both server and workstation behave.

Sure enough, now I got another phone call from another person with the same
problem.. sigh! :(
I really want to be able to keep everyone using Cached Mode, not Online
Mode.
And I'm asking in here, cause I don't want to have to pay $250 to MS for a
bug in their software...

Anyone with an idea on how to fix a "broken" Cached Mode?

Thanks!

Interestingly enough I work in Cached mode here too (actually, I had
forgotten that) , and I often have a problem where e-mails do not leave the
outbasket. Over time I have noticed that
a. once or twice, doing a scanpst has fixed the problem, at least partially
b. generally speaking, my e-mails leave my Outbasket fairly quickly.
However, if I am foolish enough to open up my outbasket before they have
gone, they are much more likely to stay, and if I open them up to have a
look inside they won't go even when I click the Send button again. So I
rarely open my outbasket except when experimenting
c. for a long time I left one message deliberately unsent in the Outbox
because that seemed to mean that other messages did not get stuck. however,
that may have been a red herring and/or fixed by a scanpst or some such.
And I'm asking in here, cause I don't want to have to pay $250 to MS for a
bug in their software...

Nor would I. Last time I submitted such a report I used their e-mail system
which appeared to be free. Although it did take an awful long time because
my request got stuck in the system, you just never know.

Hi there,

I akm also having the same problem and had no way of fixing it. I have a
trial versio nof Outlook 2003. Do you also have a trial version?

Do you know whether installing another version of Outlook 2000 would solve
the problem?

Gabriel,

No, Outlook 2000 doesn't even support Cached Mode. (this is only a problem
while in cached mode) And reinstalling Outlook 2003 doesn't help, same user
can go to a completely different workstation and the problem follows
him/her. If other users log in to the same workstations, they are just
fine. Somehow it sticks to the user.
We are using the full version of Office 2003 Pro, with the latest updates.

Somehow it sticks to the user.

That's potentially useful info.

scanpst/scanost don't help?

Another possibility I cam across was that having mutiple accounts from which
you can send e-mails might be a factor - is there any obvious difference in
that area between the profiles that work and the ones that don't?
