Everything looks bold

I've had this problem for a while, when I create a new document and write on
it, everything seems to be fine, but when I try to make text bold, it looks
as though no changes were made, but if I selected, the option bold is still
on. Now, I'm not sure about this, but I'm under the impression that
everything seems to be bold, even though the option is not selected.
I try uninstalling my copy of Word XP and downloaded the trial 2003 version,
but to no avail.
I'll be very helpful if anyone can help me fix this.

If you are in Normal or Outline view, make sure you don't have "Draft font"
enabled (Tools | Options | View).

Thank you for answering! But no, "Draft font" is not enabled. Will it help if
I mention that everything looks the same as in the screen even if I print it?
And when I copy the file and print it in another computer it works as it's
supossed to do, with proper format and everything. Anyone else got any ideas?

Possibly the regular version of the font has been damaged or deleted?

This could be it! I just tested different fonts, and the most common ones,
such as Times New Roman, Arial or Verdana did not work properly but some of
the ones I've never used did (Arial Unicode MS, Book Antiqua, etc...). Any
idea about how to fix this? The weird thing is that they still work with
Excel, or Wordpad.

If they're working in other apps, then I think we can write off the idea of
damaged/missing fonts. And since your documents print correctly from other
computers, the problem can't be in the formatting in Word. I confess I'm at
a loss to think of another explanation, but you might try posting in
microsoft.public.word.printingfonts to see if anyone there can help.
