event viewer stopped recording

Since the KB total in the application part of the Event
Viewer had reached its level of 512kb, I copied my
applications in the log from the event viewer and then
clear all the logs out of the applications part of the
event viewer. However, the application log is not being
written too yet. How can I get the applications to start
writing in the log again? Thanks John.
