Event Viewer Log

Hi,

When I open my event viewer I only see infomation in the
system log but I don't see anything in the application
log. In the application log I see the about of event but
nothing is there. Does anyone know what cause this
problem. I restart the computer but still the same.

Hi Jame,

Try booting with your CD to the Recovery Console. In the Recovery Console,
change to the
%systemroot%\system32\config directory. Rename appevent.evt to
appevent.old and secevent.evt to secevent.old. Reboot and test.

Have you found any resolution for this? It has happened
to four of my servers and the only thing to do was rebuild
the app log.

When I try to review the content of the log, the same
thing happens, all the other events in system, security
etc., disappear until I delete the app log.
