Hi All:

I cannot open any event logs at all. We had some trojans that were
eventually caught. I still think we may have some.

My short cuts at task bar keep changing icons (Like Exchange System
manager). Right now all applications have taken the icon of exchange system
manager . Usually it is the system manger icon that keeps changing.

Could you please recommend a good trojan hunter and registry scanner
package. I have tried free scans off the web sites (GFI) but they are mostly
worthless.

I thank you for your time.

Jamal

By any chance, are you on SP4? Some people are affected by a bug in SP4
which corrupts the Event Logs. Search the KB for this; a hotfix is available
from MS Support.

As for your icons, your icon cache may need to be rebuilt. TweakUI will do
this for you on the Repair page.

As for trojan scanners, look at Ad-Aware, PestPatrol, and Spybot - Search &
Destroy, and use your preferred search engine. PestPatrol's download will
tell you what you have, but not remove it, although some of that can be done
manually, and some cannot. Ad-Aware and Spybot have home user versions,
although if this is for work, buy which ever you like more.
