Hello,
I have a new PC with XP Pro + SP1, No Patches or Fixes applied yet.
I have "not" loaded any of my own programs yet.
I have just made some basic changes to user interface.
Disabled or placed a number of Services in Manual.
Based on "Black Viper Web site"
I gave the machine a name slave1, I was about to configure it to go
on my small home network when I decided to look in the event log.
I found the following "red" warning, not being on the network yet
I could not click the hyperlink. A google of this event ID found a very
large amount of potential causes.
Any pointers that may help me narrow down the cause appreciated.
I assume having a warning like this is not good news.
Thanks - David
=========================================
Warning
Event ID: 1517
Windows saved user SLAVE1\Default registry while an
application or service was still using the registry
during log off.
The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed.
The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.
This is often caused by services running as a user account,
try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService
or NetworkService account.
