Event Log Error Message

Type: Warning Event ID: 34

This driver disabled write cache on device \Device\Harddisk)\DR6.

Info:
Installed new Maxtor 160GB hard drive that is connected to a ATA 133 card.
Want to use it for storage.

Set up drive using Maxtor software and it sees it. Deive manager and
explorer sees it.

Check update drivers and informed that proper driver is installed but not
digitally signatured.

Problem:
Difficulty copying from one drive to this drive. Explorer stops moving and
my sytem freezes.

Looking for a fix.

Thanks in advance

These articles may help. You really don't want write caching enabled.

Dave,

I didn't think it was correct to enable write to cache. Now that I know
this is not the source of my problems, I can now go forward and install SP4.

Thanks
