Hell all-

Once in a while my 2000 AD server will get the following
in the event viewer:

"
The master browser has received a server announcement from
the computer ELEWIS3
that believes that it is the master browser for the domain
on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{D465FB7E-93ED-4AF7-8.
The master browser is stopping or an election is being
forced."


The ELEWIS3 PC is a WinXP Pro. workstation.

Please let me know how to resolve this. I checked in the
KB and could find nothing useful.

Simply disable the ability of the XP box to participate in browser elections
with the following registry edit.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\
MaintainServerList - REG_SZ

Range: Yes, No, and Auto
Default: Auto
If this value is No, this server is not a browser.
