We've done some network house cleaning and now the W2K Server keeps throwing
this error at me:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NetBT
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4319
Date: 11/10/2003
Time: 7:47:43 AM
User: N/A
Computer: TRMSRVR
Description:
A duplicate name has been detected on the TCP network. The IP address of
the machine that sent the message is in the data. Use nbtstat -n in a
command window to see which name is in the Conflict state.
Data:
0000: 00 00 04 00 01 00 54 00 ......T.
0008: 00 00 00 00 df 10 00 c0 ....ß..À
0010: 05 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0028: 66 00 a8 c0 f.¨À

Using nbtstat doesn't really give me anything to go on. Does anyone know
how to determine the IP address from the data info?

Does your machine have more than one NIC on the same segment? That's what
this message might indicate.

Daniel,

If you are referring to the server in question, the answer is no. In fact,
it has only one NIC card.
