Event id 11 showing up in event log

Every few days this event id 11 is showing up in my event log. The computer
is not crashing, this error is just popping up every so often for no apparent
reason. I ran a full scan on the controller and the hard drive with the
utility from the hard disk manufacturer and it said nothing was wrong with
the controller or the physical drive, but it came up with some file system
and file structure errors which I have no idea how to fix. I ran check disk
as well and ran the full test of that and it said it fixed whatever issues it
found. So to sum it up, the computer seems to be running fine, but this
controller error keeps popping up in the event log every so often and the
disk utility for my hard disk supposedly found file structure/file system
problems which it didn't really detail. Here is the event description from
the event log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Disk
Event Category: None
Event ID: 11
Date: 3/9/2006
Time: 6:57:34 PM
User: N/A
Computer: YOUR-CCD0E6383E
Description:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\D.

The chances that your cable is failing is about 1 in a billion.

I can almost guarantee that you have bad blocks on your hard drive. Right
click the drive in my computer and select the tools tab. Click check now and
select both boxes. If the drive is in use it will ask you if you want to
check on next startup. Click yes. It takes a while to recover bad blocks, so
be prepared to wait.

Well I've found out that the error only is showing up when I open the Media
Center program. Everytime I open Media Center event ID 11 will show up,
nothing happens though.

it could be that the files that are needed by media center lie on a spot
where there are bad blocks.. It won't hurt to check the drive anyway.
