I have looked on the knowledge base and google. None of the errors appear
exactly as this one. I have however tried some of the resolutions of the
other errors that appear close to this one and the error still occurs.

The OS is XP SP2 on a Toshiba Satellite that is less than 2 years old.

Any help is appreciated.

I too am experiencing what seems to be a very similar problem. Have reviewed
and attempted the support procedure but without being able to find any of the
files mentioned in that procedure. Any other suggestions out there ???

Thanks. I have checked I have checked for rootkit, spyware, vires etc. There
isn't anything. We have a 2nd laptop that is displaying the same error.

The laptops's configuration are very simple.

I am having the same problem with system error 103. I get it from time to
time when by brand new Toshiba Oosmio laptop starts up. So far, it has just
rebooted OK. I tried the knowledgebase article mentioned above, but I could
not find any of the malicious files mentioned, and my antivirus also detected
no problems. I believe the problem is a device driver that is perhaps
misbehaving randomly. However, I do not know how to find out which driver
might be causing the problem. There is no indication (at least readable to
me) in the log files that would point to the driver being loaded when this
error occurs. Can someone suggest how to find out which driver? Thanks.

I would have to say trying to figure out which is the driver is pretty
difficult. I tried something Microsoft suggest, but all it told me was some
drivers were not certified by Microsoft.

If something has been changed resently (RAM, etc), this could be the
problem. If nothing was changed, then try upgrading your drivers from the
Toshiba website for your laptop's model. If all else fails, you may have to
format and start again (obviously the last resort).

I know this may not sound very helpful, but sometimes, these kinds of errors
are difficult. I put this error on this webpage after doing everything I
could to fix it.

I would have to say I did not change anything on my PC when it was Windows
2000. I kept the same hardware and formatted the drive to install XP. This is
when I had the problems.

There is something that XP doesn't like. Really the drivers that come from
the hardware vendor are probably the ones you should use as they were tested
with the hardware.
