Any ideas what the exact error is pointing to? Clients are running Novell
clients for Netware

Hi,

I did some research and found the following solution. i hope this solution
solves your problem.

Customer is logging onto several workstations using
local profiles. After logging on her logon script that maps network drives
does not
run. The problems are not limited to just one workstation, but follows her
around
to other workstations as well. Customer is using local profiles, not
roaming
profiles. Other users logging onto the same workstations were not
experiencing any
problems at all. We also see the following problems:

Userenv 1000 errors in the application logs.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Computer: TEST
Description:
Windows cannot load netapi32.dll with (1008).

Note the number in the () can change to 127 or 203

When right clicking "Local Area Connection" and selecting properties an
error is
returned as follows "An unexpected error occurred."

When attempting to browse the network via My Network Places, doubling
clicking
on "Entire Network" returns the following error, "Unable to browse the
network. The
network is not present or not started."

When going to Start - Run and entering the \\domain.com\sysvol returns the
following error, "The file does not have a program associated with it for
performing this action. Create an association in the folder options in
control
panel."

Right clicking My Network Places and selecting either "Map Network Drive"
or
"Disconnect Network Drive" never brings up the corresponding Network Drive
window.

Userenv logs shows the following

USERENV(5d0.634) 07:28:30:734 LoadNetAPI32: Failed to find DsGetDcName
with 127.
USERENV(5d0.634) 07:28:30:750 GetMachineRole: Failed to load netapi32 with
1008.

USERENV(354.528) 15:02:34:758 LoadNetAPI32: Failed to find DsGetDcName
with 127.
USERENV(354.528) 15:02:34:821 GetMachineRole: Failed to load netapi32 with
203.

Customer troubleshooting performed was deleting the domain account and
recreating
which did not resolve the issue.

Resolution
===========

Resolution was that the Mps Reports System Info file, Software Environment,
Loaded
Modules shows the netapi32.dll was being loaded from a home directory drive
H.

Renamed/deleted the file and tested. Issue is resolved.

Cause would be that netapi32.dll calls other functions/dll's that were not
located
in the same directory.

Thanks,
