Eval update

I have a PC installed with an eval copy of Windows 2000
(build 2138.) I've scarcely used this machine in the past
5 years, so haven't bothered to upgrade it. Turns out the
eval copy reboots at regular intervals, which is a good
disincentive from Microsoft.

However, I'd now like to purchase a full copy of Windows
2000 Pro in order to upgrade the machine to SP3 or 4,
which you can't do unless you've installed build 2195.

This being the case, can I upgrade the installation to
2195 without reformatting the entire machine? I have a
stack of data and software installed and would prefer not
to have to backup and reinstall it.

All ideas welcomed!

I'm pretty sure you can do this, but it's best to check with the KB at
http://support.microsoft.com, and if you're still unsure, ask in the Windows
2000 Setup and Deployment newsgroup, available on this page:

http://microsoft.com/windows2000/community/newsgroups/management/default.mspx

Additionally, it wouldn't hurt to just try the upgrade.
