Hello,
I am reinstalling xp onto a new hard drive (formatted Seagate) all goes well
until I hit the F8 key to accept the licence. Nothing happens, it seems as
if the key is not recognised.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Usb keyboard (enabled in bios)
Thanks
Chris

Check for an F-Lock key on the keyboard.

You look on................... and the magical answer is............ the
keyboard. If you have an F-lock key it's on the keyboard.

but we all do it sometimes,

lol, it may have helped if he had said what to do with the F-Lock key. 8O

USB keyboards and wireless keyboards are for status and astatically value
only. A marketing bonanza, a corporal tunnel hype scare, a anal retentive
fuss bucket's new bag.

For installing and Admin work, shut down and plug in the PS2 keyboard. :)

I have a MS wireless keyboard and a F-Lock key and it still doesn't engage
until Windows is well on it's way to the Password screen.
The wireless mouse works fine even with out the driver. So somebody
somewhere screwed up big time.

Slap it on and fix it later.

Is it one of the Keyboards that has an alternate set of associated
commands? My Logitech one does, and that is its default. You have to
press the F lock key (left of ESC on this) to put them into regular
Function mode. Other makes will vary
