etrust antivirus

I have started using this anti-virus package from Computer Associates
and am wondering how it compares to the three free anti-virus packages
that are often touted. There don't seem to be many comparative sites
listing etrust.

Does anyone have any references or even opinions of this program?

Strictly opinion:

I think that e-trust is pretty good as far as AV programs go. Watch
out for the autodownload update function though.

The thing that turned me off of it was problems with the autodownload
update function. It would work fine one day and fail the next day
for no obvious reason. This happened twice in 2004, it took over a
week to correct the first time, working with their on-line support
group. The second time it quit working the problem was never
resolved. My subscription was about to expire, had at least two
weeks to run, and each time I would log on to the Internet my browser
would automagically go to their resubscribe page. I regard this as
browser hijacking and it really annoyed me. I am now using Avast!

http://www.virusbulletin.com/vb100/archives/products.xml?etrust.xml

CA Inoculate/eTrust: 37% failed tests
Symantec AV (SAV): 18% failed tests
Kaspersky: 34% failed tests
F-Prot: 40% failed tests
AntiVir: 67% failed tests
Avast: 63% failed tests
Grisoft AVG: 74% failed tests

This only gives a history of how often a vendor's AV product failed to
meet VB's test criteria. It does not specify how good is the coverage
of the product now. You can visit:

http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2005_02.php

to see coverage within specific categories of coverage. Not all AV
products are listed. CA eTrust (Inoculate) wasn't included in their
report.
