somebody else posted this exact same topic here, and they had the exact
same problem as i have, the ethernet controller and smbus controller
aren't recognized by winxp. my computer is a dell dimension 2400 and
the other person who posted this had dell dimension 2400 also. the
replies to his topic said that it was a hardware failure, but it seems
awful strange that BOTH of our hardware would fail in the EXACT same
way on the same brand and model of computer, after simply reinstalling
winxp. How does a reinstall mess up our hardware? it's pretty much
useless asking dell for help, their user-support is worthless, unless
you happen to speak arabic. i went to aa dell support chat with a
"proffessional" who told me "take to start menu a close, and restart a
computer. correct? correct? correct?"
is there anyone who can help me? or am i going to have to have somebody
tear my computer apart to fix it?
