System:
Dell Latitude D600, Broadcom 5702 Gigabit Integrated
Controller, WinXP Pro SP1
Problem:
I have to reinstall the Broadcom driver everytime I boot
into Windows. Otherwise, the wired ethernet will not work.
It transmits but cannot receive packets. I have tried two
versions of the drive (v6.64 & v7.73).
Facts:
I have performed a clean reinstall of WinXP 2x and same
problem both times. The wired ethernet works fine when I
boot into Mandrake 10.0 (dual boot setup). My wireless
works fine in Windows (Intel PRO 2100 3A). Dell offered to
replace my motherboard... but given the facts, I'm pretty
sure it's safe to assume it's not a hardware problem.
Any suggestions?
