Ethernet Connections

I have purchased an ethernet adaptor w/Driver and have
installed it into my computer...I put the driver in when
asked...the ethernet connector shows it's there except it
doesn't read the driver information....it's as if the two
aren't connecting with each other....I will get an error
10 or an error 28....help please!

You have two unknowns - Ethernet hardware and computer /
operating system. Which is reason for problem? Your
potential problems are an exponential of the unknowns - maybe
four or eight. Strip unknowns down to simplest parts. IOW
manufacturer provides a diagnostic for free (if ethernet
adaptor manufacturer has any credibility). Run that
diagnostic. Test card without using complications from OS.
First learn if ethernet hardware even works. Only then try to
make computer / operating system interface with a known good
card.
