errors.log filling quickly

P

Peter

MS Antispyware has an errors.log file in the install
directory that fills up quickly on my machine. Deleted a
2 gigabyte log file yesterday. Below is an example. Any
fixes?

Cheers,
Peter

From Bill Sanderson:
Please shut down Microsoft Antispyware and delete this file.

Then restart Microsoft Antispyware and see, via Help, About, whether you are
on the current build 1.0.615.

If not, download from here and upgrade:

Andre has posted what I would have said. Please confirm which version you
are now on, if possible. My understanding is that growth of the log file is
capped in current builds, but I don't have a way to test this firsthand.

The growth happened with an older verison, the exact one I
don't know but at least several months old.

It seems my update a few days ago to 1.0.615 (the latest)
did not go well. Settings weren't sticking (e.g., scan
schedule), every time I opened the app from the tray, it
would go through the first-use wizard, and definition
downloads didn't stick (it kept wanting to download and
install the latest bunch).

So I did a control-panel uninstall, deleted the entire
folder in c:\programs... and re-installed. All seems fine
so far!

Cheers,
Peter

Thanks! Delete the large log file, and it shouldn't grow out of control.
Sorry for the bad install , and glad you worked out a way around it.
