Errors 59 and 32

Steve

Hello,

I posted this question at another group, but I've found no resolution

I don't know why, but recently when I'm finished browsing and try to
shut down my computer it freezes up. I have Windows Home XP.

I then can't bring up the shut down menu, nor can I cntrl-alt-del. I
have to do a hard shut down. No programs will load also. When I checked
the Event System viewer, I see consistent Error 59's and 32's.

59 says: Generate Activitation Context failed for
C:WINDOWS\system32\SanCpl.cpl
Reference Error message: The Operation completed sucessfully.

The source is SideBySide

Someone suggested that the SanCpl.cpl is a Sandra program file.
I have that program, but I hadn't used it prior to these
problems developing. I did uninstall, and then reinstall
Sandra, but the errors still appear.

32 says: Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft. VC80.CRT.
Reference error
message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

This source is also SideBySide.

There are dozens of those same error messages for each boot up.

I have no idea what the missing assembly might be, but any suggestions would
be appreciated.

Thanks

When you view the logged events in Event Viewer (double-click them in the
right-hand pane) in the upper right corner, third button down is a copy to
clipboard, then you can paste in the body of a reply message.

Please do so for each of the different System Log events (that are a Type:
'Error' or 'Warning') >>>since last boot<<< so we can see all of the event
detail.

Also check Device Manager for error codes and or non-starting devices.

Thanks for the replies. I uninstalled Sandra and did not reinstall it.
Those errors have stopped, but sadly I'm still having shut down problems.
