Hello,

I have a problem with my Windows XP. Last week I had a
virus (w32/pate.b) on my machine. The whole virus has
been removed. Now when I startup my machine and logon at
Windows XP. I receive the message:

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When I ask for details it says that there is a problem
with:

AppName: explorer.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106

ModName: Wininet.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2800.1106

Offset: 00067bd9

When I logon with another user, I have no problem.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this in my profile?

Thanks.
Regards.

Hello!
Apparently the reason this might be happening is because of
some bad piece of code in a IE search-hijacker.

Downlaod this and run one or both these to ferret out
spyware as a possible culprit.

spybot here

or

AdAware
