error with Visio2002 and office XP

I have installed offcie XP~ onto my system at work. All
works ok. When I now install Visio 2002 on top, the excel
icon in Program Manager turns into the visio icon and
when I try and run Visio, it opens ok. However, when I
try to open a file I get an error:

Microsoft Visio has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

All this does is to ask to send an error report to MSoft,
ie. not informing me how to fix it.
Does anyone know of this problem and how to fix it
please. I am getting earache from my users. Any quick
solution would be much appreciated.

There is a service release for Visio.
