Error with task scheduler.

I was going to use the task scheduler to, obviously, schedule some tasks, however, it would not start. When I checked the log file, the most recent listing was this:

"Task Scheduler Service" 1/26/2004 12:47:14 AM ** Error **
A failure occurred during service initialization.
The specific error is:
0x800706b8: The endpoint cannot be created.
"Task Scheduler Service"
Exited at 1/26/2004 12:47:14 AM

Additionally, this error has happened many, many, many times in the past couple of months, each occurence appended to the log. I never got a popup or anything, or found any problem until just now, when I tried to use it. A little help? I have no idea what this means...
