Error While Spell Checking

HelpMe

I'm getting the following: Error while spell checking.
Click OK.

When I try to compose a new message and have
spell check run before sending it will error out and
send the mispelled message as is. Spell check will not
run manually either giving the same error. This error is
occuring in Outlook 2003 (full client) on a networked
Windows XP computer. I have already tried numerous
uninstalls of Outlook and Proofing Tools (Spell
Checker). I followed the steps outlined in a QA on this
issue in Outlook 2000 with no luck. What else can I
try? HELP ME PLEASE. Thanks.

Make sure you have Word installed (or Excel, PowerPoint) or spell checker does not work.

Gee. Thanks. The entire Office 2003 package is installed
except for Publisher. That's not it.

Outlook includes the spell check engine - Outlook Express does not.

look in the event log to see if it has any other information.

Do you have a custom.dic file? it should be in your user account under My
Documents and Settings, under Proof.

Verify the spelling engine is properly installed.
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools

In the right pane where it reads: SharedFilesDir, verify that it reads:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared under Data.

Did you try Detect & Repair yet? look for it on Help.
