Error when running Sfc /scannow

I got following error when I tried to run sfc /scannow on command line:

Windows File Protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files.

The specific error code is 0x000006ba [The RPC server is unavailable.].

Hope you can let me know what is the problem and how to resolve it. Thanks.

Try opening cmd,type:Sfc /Scannow REVERT or /REVERT Agree to the text,
type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree,type:EXIT Restart pc.Back in xp,retry sfc...
