Dear All,
I am facing the problem in a Windows 2000 server(which is
not the domain contriller) which is a member server of a
domain.
I am facing a problem while i want to add/change the
user's permission for a particular file or folder.
My action are like this:
1.Right Click on the file/folder.
2.Selecton of "Properties" menu item.
3.Selection of "Security Tab".
4.Clicking on the "Add" button
at this point I am getting the error:
"Unable to display the user selection dialog. (null)"
and I am totally unable to change any security options for
any of the folder/file of that server.
Please help me in this regard ASAP.
Thanking you.

What permission do you have on the system or domain when you are trying to
perform this action?

You should also find that Local Users and Groups is Red X'd out when you try to access it. Check to see if you have activeds.tlb in your %SystemRoot%\System32 folder - if not then copy it from another w2k machine and everything will be fixed.

please check your riched32.dll file in system32 directory. it must be 3.5KB and you can copy from original xp cd-rom. try and enjoy!
