Have you removed some type of malware or program recently? If so,
it may have left a startup entry behind.
Go to Start -> Run. Type msconfig in the Open box. Click OK.
Click on the Startup tab. Look in the Command section for any
entries that refer to ntvdm.exe. You may have to expand the
Command section to see the entire path. To do this double click
on the bar ( | ) that you see between Command and Location. You
might want to post back with details on what you find.
On the other hand, if you feel confident that you've found the
problem, do the following:
Uncheck the entry and click OK. Choose to restart your PC. When
you're machine reboots, you'll see a box telling you that you're
computer is now running in diagnostic mode. Put a check mark in
the box on the left and click OK.
