error signature ModName: me2.dll

The browser closes down with an error message every time
I load the internet explorer the first time. The detailed
error report says the following:
Error Signature:
AppName:iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName:me2.dll ModVer:1.0.0.2 Offset:000028d0
I've installed the latest service package and updates
nothing seems to work.
Any clue???

Me2.dll is from the Network Essentials parasite.

I would try Spybot from
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd first. I believe it
will remove this parasite. Spybot should be updated after installation-
before use.

If spybot fails to remove it completely, the manual removal instructions
should work.
