I have been using OE for many months without problems but now I cannot send
mail. I get trhe following error message every time:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'.
Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.totalise.co.uk', Server:
'mail.totalise.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 relay not
permitted', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number:
0x800CCC79.

I can receive mail and I can send via a different mail application.

Sounds like you need to authenticate to your ISP's SMTP server in your OE
account properties. Contact your ISP if you need help.

Note - best not to post email addresses in usenet - will lead to spam, SWEN
virus and others.

Also note: OE questions are best asked in OE groups:

vmicrosoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

Hi Lanwench,
Thanks for the suggestion but I am still having the problem. I am waiting a
response from my ISP. Thanks also for the ref to the other sites and the
steer about posting mail addresses.
