Windows Microsoft Outlook (Vista)

I get the following message when I send email. Didn't start happening until
my computer automatically updated my Windows Service Vista Pack 2.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'netzero.net'. Subject '', Account:
'home1014', Server: 'smtp.netzero.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553
Domain name required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error
Number: 0x800CCC78

Vista only has SP1. If you installed something called "SP2", it is rogue.

The email address to which you were sending "netzero.net" is incomplete.
It needs to be something like (e-mail address removed).

It might be possible that you have the wrong (SMTP) settings. from what I can
tell your using (.net) net zero's SMTP settings should be
(((((authsmtp.netzero.com))) & your pop setting should be
(((pop.netzero.com)))

My mail will not send either. Just started yesterday. I never had this
problem before. I followed the directions in the message I received, but my
mail will still not send. Here is the message I keep receiving and then my
mail goes to Outbox:

correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 5.1.0 Authentication required', Port: 587, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Make sure you have send authentication enabled.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication must be checked.
