My mother keeps getting an error message that says:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException whenever she tries to open certain pages
while on-line. I tried doing a google search to see what is causing this to
no avail. Well, it did pull up a lot of webpages but they are all Greek to
me as I am not very computer literate. Can someone please explain in layman
terms what I can do to correct this problem. She uses AOL and she also has
Norton Internet Security along with Norton Antivirus. Could any of these
programs be causing this?

Thanx,

Patty

If your mother has Java installed, make sure it is the latest version.
If it isn't, have her uninstall Java and reinstall the latest version
from http://www.java.com/en/ .

If that doesn't solve her issue, post back with the urls of sites where
she is having trouble and someone can check them out for you.

Thanx for the reply. I uninstalled and re-installed Java for her but she
still can't get onto all websites. I think it has something to do with her
Norton Internet Security because whenever I disable it, I have no problems
getting into the websites. I am having the same problem on my computer. Is
there a newsgroup here that deals with Norton Internet Security issues??
I'd appreciate a link for that one if it exists. Also, before I go, can you
tell me how to make it so her entire name does not show up in these
newsgroups?

Thanx,

Read the Help file that comes with NIS and/or contact Symantec for

I don't use Outlook Express as a newsreader, so I can't answer your
question about setting it up. Here are some links that discuss using OE
