I ran searches for this...sorry if a solution has been
posted already...I did look!

I am recieving the following errors at start up:

"The Service Database is Locked" and
"Can't Start Kernel Mode Driver Service"

This started just after I installed Panda AV but I have
been using that program for almost a year. I just did a re-
install of XP as SP2 completely corrupted my system.

Any ideas??

I have Win XP Home
Panda AV
Easy CD Creator
SB Audigy ZS
Asus A7N8X-X MB
Microsoft Wireless router
Asus V9570/FX5700 Graphics
1 Gig DDR
Athlon 2500+
***I do NOT have SP2 loaded***

updated all firmware and drivers for all appplications

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Service Database is Locked

I generally ignore DCOM errors.

I recieve DCOM Event ID 10005 errors all the time. In my case it's because
the services in question have been disabled by me.

ImapiService = IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service = [[Manages CD recording using
Image Mastering Applications Programming Interface (IMAPI). If this service
is stopped, this computer will be unable to record CDs.]]

The above statement is not totally true. I use Nero/InCd, part of making
this work correctly is to disable the ImapiService. I see that you're using
Easy CD Creator, I know nothing about that. Getting back on course...

Questions:
Can you burn CDs now?
Can you burn CDs after setting IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service to Manual?
Can you start the service from Services?

Try this...
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | OK |
Scroll down to and double click: IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service |
Set to: Manual under Startup type | Apply | OK |
Close services and reboot to see if you get your error again.

Also, have a look at these...

Imapi is set to Manual...Have not tried the CD burn yet. Also, the errors are
