Error on opening Outlook2000

When trying to open Outlook2000, I get this:

Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Unintalling and reinstalling office does not cure the
problem. Any ideas????
 
I'm having the same problem as Tim. "Microsoft Outlook
has encounterd a problem and needs to close." I'd
appreciate any suggestions.
 
I too have this problem and have searched the messages for a solution --
without luck. The problem always occurs when I first start outlook 2000 for
any user. Subsequent restarts are ok.

I am using XP home edition with four user profiles, Norton Systems Works
2004, and Outlook 2000.

The problem isn't fatal -- just annoying. Anyone able to solve this
problem????
