Error msg Help

My son used my Lap top last night, and today, I can not get onto my PC. Even
thru Safe Mode. Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Error msg I get says I am missing " samlib.dll "

I run Windows XP, and everything I have read about " samlib.dll " says it
is for Windows NT.

Any Ideas?

SAM is the Security Hive component of the Registry. It manages
the accounts on the PC. Samlib.dll is still a component of XP. It's
just that XP is Windows 2000 is Windows NT4, etc..
Try booting the PC to "Last Known Good Configuration". The
DLL is a System protected module and if removed/renamed it is
automatically replaced by Windows File Protection. IF LKGC will
not boot, you'll most likely need to do a "Repair" install.
