This is Access 2K on a WinXP machine, and I've been getting weird error
messages when I link to another Access table. I can link to another table,
and open it. But when I link to a second table, I cannot open it, nor the
first. It doesn't matter what databases I"m using, and this is even if I
create a new db from scratch. I've rebooted, done a virus scan, gone to the
MS update site to make sure I"ve got the latest updates. I've got sp3 for
Access installed.

I also get other, random errors when I close the db. The last one was
"Operation not supported in transaction". I didn't write down the others,
but I get the notice to send the errors to MS quite a bit. It's not
consistent, and the only thing I can see that causes the problem is when I
go into the FileOpen or FileSave dialog box, that seems to trigger it.

Now that I think about it, it takes MUCH longer to get the directory
listings from that than it did even yesterday.

I don't see anything on the MS tech pages or KB pages about this.

Suggestions?

Hello, Margaret

I got the same error message in Access 2000 in Windows98. I link to a Progress Database table using Progress Database ODBC driver. When I open the table, I got that message

Did you get some answers from this community? Please forward the answer to me
Thanks a lot
