error messages on start-up

I tried to go through Microsoft to solve my problem, but
wouldn't help me because I bought XP with the system, so
am hoping that I can find assistance here.

On start-up, as of the last day or two, I get two
errors. They aren't really effecting my performance, but
when I tried to download something, here from microsoft,
I got the same error message about the system error.

1.) Windows can't run 16-Bit Windows applications.
2.) Windows can't find 'C:\Windows\system32\system32.exe'

I have my XP disk, but don't know what to do from there.
Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings, not sure about the 16bit part but...

You dont need or want system32.exe, it a virus

Remove remnants of KWBot.Worm from the Registry and File System
