Error messages everytime I start up Win2000

Since I reinstalled Win2000 on a new harddrive last week, everytime I start
it up(and also sometimes while it's operating) I get a series of error
messages as described below:

....Windows-Delayed Write Failed...Windows was unable to save all the data
for the file \Device
\Harddisk\Volume3\Recycled\NProtect. The data has been lost. This error
may be caused by a failure of your compouter hardware or network
connections. Please try to save the file elsewhere.

This error message is then repeated 7 or 8 more times for the following
devices:

Device/Harddisk\Volume4\Recycled
" " " " Volume5\Recycled
" " " " Volume6\Recycled
" " '' " " Volume6\Recycled\NProtect
File: D
File: E
File: F
File: G

These error messages are also popping up sporatically for no obvious reason
at any time. Can someone give me an idea about troubleshooting this.

Thanks, John

Dave.

I've been trying to track down the ID 50 error and I've come to the point
where I know what the "final status code" is(0028: 85 01 00 c0) and I've
been trying to find the NT Status Code list with no luck. Would you know
where I might try for that. Also, in the Event Log I'm finding "source:
ftdisk". Any idea what "ftdisk" stands for?

I had just installed Norton System Tools 2001 and I think I'll uninstall
them and see if that helps the problem.

Thanks for the help.

John

You may want to post that to the symantec message board as it appears to
have to do with some version of norton system works.

This article may also help.
