Error messages: dmboot event ID 3 (or 2) "Failed to start Volume#

This is what happened sofar:
1. Had 4 removable "caddy" type disk drives - whick all worked well
2. Had SCSI drive - which also worked well. This SCSI drive was never
removed from the system and I've read somewhere that all the necessary data
of the 4 removable disks were stored here.
3. The removable disks all had the same drive letter (R), used for video
capturing and editing
4. I then changed my motherboard and upgraded the CPU (Intel4)
5. The SCSI drive had to be removed because the motherboard that I now have,
does not have enough PCI slots to host it (and it was also slow)
6. When I now start XP, "R:/" is shown as recognized, but when I look into
the Event Viewer, the following error message is displayed:
error - dmboot - event 3
I've tried to get info from Microsoft on this and the closest I could come
to a solution was to remove and re-install the MBR - but here I'n not
technical enough and am scared to lose all data!
The four removable disks are all changed to "dynamic" disks (long time ago),
which means that each disk is a volume on its own, right?
The most annoying thing that happens is when I edit on the R:/, XP would all
of a sudden crash and restart without any warning! Checking Event Viewer, the
same errors would show up.
Could someone please help solve this?
Much appreciated
