Error messages are installed - these cause computer to shut down

When the computer updates the windows some or a
combination of all those updates causes my computer to go
to a blue screen and then automatically shut down.

Note some of the program numbers that are being installed
that are causing problems KB810217, KM821557, KB823182, KB
924105, SP2 see Q329048, SP2 see Q329115, SP2 see
Q329390. These are listed as XP hotfixes. If I go to my
last know configuration I don't have any problems.

I am also having a problem with my CD Decoder giving me
error messages. I did not have that problem until I
downloaded a DVD player from a Lord of the Rings DVD.

Anyone have any ideas what is happening?

JesseAnn, first thing go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and
uninstall the Dvd Player. Then
check at Kelly's for help with Updates.
