error message

My friends keep on getting this error message "This
system is shuting down. Please save all work in progress
and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This
shutdown was initated by NT authotity/system

it then gives you 40 secs to shut down

then it says Windows must now restart because the remote
procedure call (rpc) service terminated unexpectedly"

Doe sanyone know what it is??
