Hi - Recentley I have been receiving the following error message when I open
my Access 2002 DB. "The Db needs to be repaired or isn't a db file. You or
another user may have unexpectedly quit MS access while a MS access db was
open. It then asks if I owuld like to repair - I choose yes and it seems to
be working fine. I've looked at implementing a force shutdown but was
wonering if there is another isssue.

The message does indicate that there is a problem with your database.

I suggest you get Access to rebuild it by following the steps for the first
symptom in this article:
Recovering from Corruption

If by "implementing a force shutdown" you mean that you have been testing
scenarios that crash out of Access, then yes, this can corrupt the database.
