When I try to install software the computer gives me an
Error message: "Unable to create a temporary folder to
extract to."

I am logged in as administrator.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the Administrator or System TEMP and TMP environment vasriables are
hosed.

Control Panel / System / Advanced / Environment
