Error Message

I am receiving the following error message after I restart my computer after
XP Home Edition loads and also when i try to access pdf files from a software
installation cd that came with my muli-function printer. The error message
reads "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT the system is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "close" to terminated the
application."

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how I can fix it?
