Running Older software with SP2

I recently installed SP2 and since then i have been unable to run older style
software.

i get the following message:
"C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application. [Close] [Ignore] "

i cant find a file called autoexe.nt in that folder, could this be my problem?

anythoughts greatly apprecieted as this problem is very frustrating

Hi Denny,

Please can you help me to fix the same problem. I try everything in the file
from support. microsoft.com you said. but it still don't work.....

Replace the standard version of autoexec.nt/config.nt by copying a backup copy
located in %windir%\repair\ to %windir%\system32\
(NB: %windir% is typically C:\Windows)

Also to consider is that it may be caused by a trojan or something else, see
TrojanDownloader.Win32.Dia.a, for further information:

Another cause can be by AVAST (antivirus software) if you have WinXP SP2 installed:
