Hi, Can someone please help. When I turn off my computer, it is taking
forever. The computer comes up with the above file name and say click now to
close. If i do this or let it run, it comes up with programme not responding.
After about 5 mins the computer shuts down or restart. Can anyone help please.

Also, can I reinstall XP. My OS is located on drive D:. Thats the only thing
in drive D. the rest of my 160GB hard drive is partitioned. Can some one tell
me, if I reinstall XP from drive D will this wipe everything from my other
partisions.

Thanks for help in advance

Hi,

Sounds like a virus-type message - have you checked the PC with a
suitable program? Good program names are AVG7, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware 6,
Hijack This (lists spyware and allows you to get rid of it manually, by
inspection), Bazooka. After that, install SpywareBlaster to configure
Internet Exploere against sneak attack while surfing, and a good firewall
program (ZoneAlarm) to keep the rest of the nonsense at bay while you're
online using other programs.

Reinstalling Windows onto the D-drive shouldn't touch anything else at
all, let alone wipe your other partitions - provided you tell it where to
install itself to when you start the procedure, and make quite sure that
that place is the D-drive before letting Windows do its stuff.
Why do you want to reinstall, BTW? If it's related to the irritating screen
message, it'd be far better IMHO to hunt down the source of the trouble
using msconfig.exe to declare what's in the Startup menu, regedit.exe to
chase out persistent gremlins (if you have to, and if you know for sure what
you're doing in the Registry), and a selection of freebie spyware, adware
and anti-virus programs (see above).

Good luck.
